Why It Matters
“It’s taken me over 40 years to answer the question: “why does my work matter?” In fact, it’s a question that I am continually asking myself as the needs of my clients change. I believe that our team has the opportunity and ability to have a positive impact on the lives of our clients. As we help our clients negotiate legal and financial waters that are confusing and stressful, we seem to ease a burden that is sometimes heavy to bear.
Personally, my work matters to me because I love what I do. Forty-plus years of working with people from all backgrounds on a wide variety of issues has led me to have a more comprehensive view of life and many of my clients have become lifelong friends. Finding creative, win-win solutions that help my clients in their lives is exciting work to me.
Finally, it matters because I feel we have the opportunity to get better and better at what we do. There is something invigorating about the challenge of improving our method and outshining the competition. The fact that we compete with large, multinational firms puts a fire under us to keep working to get better. The thrill of that challenge translates into strong, dedicated service to our clients. I love that.”
